Did I mention there are Grease fireworks tonight?

In a night that should have been a Rock'n'roll Party, the A's played more like It's Raining On Prom Night. It's hard to pin the blame on anyone in particular for this loss; There Are Worst Things I Could Do; really, everything that could have gone wrong, did. I will tell you that Sonny Gray was pulled in the fourth inning after 98 pitches, like he was Alone at a Drive-In Movie, so that probably tells you everything you need to know about this particular Friday night, as we inch closer to Summer Nights.

Sonny Gray was more like a Blue Moon tonight, and not the good kind, as his usually clean and sparkling WHIP has been a bit Sandy lately, as he's gone from the A's number one ace to a Beauty School Dropout; true, he may have been a bit Hopelessly Devoted to his fastball, but he sure didn't get any help from the defense behind him. Everything hit in the Yankees five-run fourth inning was absolutely smoked off the bat, but Coco Crisp missed two balls that he should have caught (Look At Me, I Play Awful D), but again, perhaps not throwing a straight fastball like Greased Lightening would probably help the cause a bit.

Meanwhile, Josh Reddick is sitting on the sidelines all Tears On My Pillow because he's out for 4-6 weeks and can't help Mooning the loss of his hot start to the season; he is no longer Born to Hand Jive, nor can he help his teammates, who have completely forgotten about their hot week and have slid into a horrible two-game losing streak, where their only runs tonight came on a Matt McBride single and a Coco Crisp double. Also, Stephen Vogt is pretty banged up after tonight. But We Go Together, so we will do this all over again tomorrow at 1:05PM.

Things have NOT gone well for our heroes. After not one, but TWO misplays by Coco Crisp in the field and a whole lot of pitches by Sonny Gray (who exited in the fourth), the A's find themselves not with a 1-0 lead, but rather a 5-1 deficit. Sigh. Red wine, fronteras. LET'S GO OAK-LAND!

After the first game in the series resulted in heavy losses; not only the game, which broke a week-long four-game winning streak, but also a 4-6 week loss of one of the A's hottest hitters in Josh Reddick, the A's try to continue their winning ways against the Yankees in tonight's game.

Good evening and a Happy Friday to you! This A's team is hard to read so far; they're good, they're bad, they're injured, they're going to recover, they're starting pitching is good...? bad...? We just don't know. The A's usual ace, who has struggled mightily this season so far, will try to right his own ship while keeping the A's in good spirits until they can have their whole team back together.

Sonny Gray will face off against CC Sabathia, whom the A's hit well, especially at home, in his first start off the DL. Billy Burns will sit this one out, while Jake Smolinski will take over right field. As we learned from last night, don't let the Yankees have three late innings with a lead. Here's to hoping!

Here are your lineups:
