Billy Beane on trading Scott Kazmir: 'We tried to wait as long as we possibly could'

Oakland Athletics general manager Billy Beane went on The Damon Bruce Show to talk about Thursday's trade of Scott Kazmir to the Houston Astros, telling the 95.7 the Game host, "We tried to wait as long as we possibly could. We wanted to give the team every chance and every opportunity."

He added, "Each day that goes by other teams are going to decide whether they're in it or not in it. When you look at the other potentially available guys, you begin to see a potential glut of available starting pitchers."
