The Oakland A’s are on a winning streak! They’ve put together three straight victories, and are now just one game out of a postseason spot in the Wild Card race. They’ll look to build on that success Saturday, continuing their series against the Texas Rangers at the Coliseum.
On the mound for Oakland is Cole Irvin. The lefty has been knocked around in each of his last three starts, allowing a total of 13 runs in 10 innings and never making it out of the 5th. This will be his fifth time facing the Rangers this year, having split the previous four meetings with two wins and two losses.
For the second straight game, the pitcher for Texas is making his third career MLB start. This time it’s Wes Benjamin, who has also made a handful of outings as a reliever the past two summers. His longest appearance this year was three innings, in relief, and he has a 7.23 ERA in 18⅔ frames.
