The Oakland A’s are on a winning streak! They’ve won three in a row, including last night in the opener of their three-game series against the Detroit Tigers. They play again at Comerica Park on Wednesday.

Today is the first of September, which means rosters expanded and new callups are here. The A’s did what everybody was hoping and brought up Khris Davis, but the slugging DH isn’t in the lineup just yet tonight. Neither is Austin Allen, the new third catcher.

On the mound for Oakland is James Kaprielian. The right-hander got roughed up by the Yankees in his last start, allowing six runs on three homers in five innings, but that was a rare occurrence during a strong rookie season. He’s never faced the Tigers before.

Detroit calls on Wily Peralta to start. The right-hander just did a quick stint on the injured list due to a blister on one of the fingers of his pitching hand, and was activated from the IL today.
