Brayan Buelvas

It's hard to be impressed with Low-A, especially when most of the players hardly saw any action last season. His offensive numbers aren't great this year (.225/.315/.433), but he's only 19 and has a phenomenal arm. Only A's minor leaguer I've ever seen with this sort of cannon is Luis Barrera.

In tonight's game at Modesto, the Nuts finally got their first non-infield hit with one out in the ninth, and Buelvas played the ball off the wall in left-center and fired off a perfect throw to hold the runner to a single. The next batter flew out to right-center, and Buelvas doubled off the runner at first to end the game on one hop.

In a farm without many bright spots right now, he's definitely one to look forward to. Robert Puason has struggled (he had a sombrero in this game and the offensive numbers are just putrid so far), but Buelvas has some serious raw tools to work with.
