The Oakland A’s are on to their 100th game of the 2021 season, with 56 wins in the bag so far. Unfortunately tonight’s contest comes against the Seattle Mariners. Listen, we can all love baseball and the A’s and everything and still admit that Mariners games are just the worst. Don’t know why, phenomenon of the universe I suppose. Seattle baseball just turns out boring and awful pretty much every time, even when you win.
Maybe Saturday will be different! Oakland has All-Star Chris Bassitt on the mound, coming off a pair of seven-inning gems in his previous appearances. He’s faced the Mariners once this year and got knocked around for four runs in four innings.
The A’s lineup will face Logan Gilbert, who was quality against them once in May (6 innings, 2 runs). He gave up two doubles in that game to Chad Pinder, but Pinder is now out with injury.
