The Oakland A’s got off on the right foot out of the 2021 All-Star break, winning their first game of the season’s second half with a walk-off homer against the Cleveland Indians on Friday night.
The series continues at the Coliseum on Saturday, as Frankie Montas takes the mound for the A’s. The right-hander was quality his last time out against the Astros in Houston, and overall he’s allowed just five total runs in his past three starts, against three of the best teams in the majors (Giants, Red Sox, Astros).
Meanwhile, Oakland’s lineup gets a major boost with the return of Mark Canha. The outfielder and leadoff hitter missed three weeks to a strained hip, and the club struggled mightily while he was out. Now he’s back and in his familiar No. 1 spot in the starting lineup. Click here for more details, as prospect Skye Bolt was optioned back to Triple-A to make room on the roster.
