You know the drill by now. The Oakland A’s are good. But they aren’t quite playing like it the last few weeks. They’re playing like a team that almost wins games but doesn’t. But today is a new day and another chance to get back on track before the All-Star break next week.
The A’s continue their series in Arlington against the Texas Rangers, and Saturday brings the third edition of a pitching matchup we’ve seen twice already. James Kaprielian goes for Oakland, coming off seven brilliants innings against the Red Sox last time out. Mike Foltynewicz starts for Texas, coming off seven decent innings against the Mariners.
Kap and Folty have faced off twice this year, and they each pitched a quality start both times. But Folty was slightly better in both games, and the Rangers got the wins while Kap took a no-decision and a tough loss. Third time’s the charm!
