Keep climbing that mountain!

The Oakland A’s won a game at Coors Field! After pulling a sweep there in 2012, they had the favor returned in 2018 and then lost two-of-three in 2020. This year, they got off on the right foot in the mountains with a victory Friday night.

They’ll try to do it again on Saturday, with Cole Irvin taking the mound. The left-hander has allowed five, four, and four runs in his last three starts, but has also averaged slightly better than five innings in those games, so he’s at least still gotten his work in even when he hasn’t kept the opponent off the board.

Tonight’s recap: I’m attempting to take some time off over the next few days, but last night I accidentally watched the game and wrote a recap anyway out of habit. Whoops! Let’s try this again. I’ve set a post-game thread to publish at 10 p.m. so the comments can get started promptly. It will be a pre-write so it won’t have any details about the game, but I might get a chance to add some highlights later.
