The first-place Oakland A’s are riding high after two great victories to finish up their homestand, with a 12-run outburst one night and then a shutout the next. Now they’ll take that feeling up to the Rocky Mountains.
The Colorado Rockies play by National League rules, which means there will be no DH this weekend and A’s starting pitcher Frankie Montas will have to bat tonight. For his career, he’s 0-for-6 at the plate with a walk and five strikeouts. On the mound, his last outing against the Angels was marred by four unearned runs, but he did strike out seven batters.
Tonight’s recap: I’m going to attempt to take some time off over the next few days, but that doesn’t mean we won’t have game coverage. My plan for tonight is to set a post-game thread to publish at 10 p.m., and then win or lose we’ll at least have a new comments section. I might get around to filling in that post with a recap of some kind, or at least a few highlights.
