Series finale!

The Oakland A’s and Kansas City Royals are three games into their four-games series at the Coliseum, and so far the home team has won twice. Sunday brings the weekend finale, and the A’s will look to make it three outta four.

Oakland starts off with their ace, Chris Bassitt. The right-hander had another quality outing last time out against the D’Backs, tossing seven innings and allowing just two runs, and overall he’s having a great follow-up to his breakout 2020 campaign. He has a sparkling 3.44 ERA backed up by a 3.08 FIP and excellent Statcast metrics, and he’s striking out nearly five batters per walk.

After a disappointing stretch against a pair of middling AL West division rivals, the A’s have won 8 of their last 11 in series against the Mariners, Rockies, D’Backs, and Royals. That’s a success regardless of what happens today, but adding one more victory wouldn’t hurt.
