The Oakland A’s dropped a winnable game on Sunday, but they still left Anaheim with a series victory over the AL West division rival Los Angeles Angels. Now they’ll get their first look at another western foe, with the Seattle Mariners paying a visit to the Coliseum for three games.

The opener will see Frankie Montas take the mound for the green and gold. The right-hander has been quality or close to it in each of his last five starts, totaling 28⅓ innings with a 3.49 ERA, 25 Ks, 8 BB, and no more than three runs in any single game. He’ll look to continue the success he had against Seattle last summer, when he tossed two quality starts with just one earned run over 13 innings combined.

The A’s will spend the entire week at home, with these three contests against the Mariners followed by a four-game rematch against the Angels. Then they’ll head to Seattle for three more against the Mariners.
