There’s a lot of news around the Oakland A’s today, but there’s also a task at hand: A series at Fenway Park, against the Boston Red Sox.

Fresh from a day off after playing 17 straight, the A’s open their latest road trip with a few games on the East Coast. Tuesday’s opener features Chris Bassitt on the mound for the green-and-gold, working on a streak of four straight quality starts. Last time out, against the Blue Jays, he worked seven innings with just two runs allowed, striking out seven batters along the way.

The Red Sox call on Nathan Eovaldi for his eighth start of the year. The right-hander’s 4.62 ERA is mediocre, but his 2.05 FIP and .284 xwOBA are both superb.

Oakland begins this trip with a 21-15 record, putting them first place in the AL West division, with a 2.5-game lead over the Houston Astros and Seattle Mariners in a tie for second.
