Relax! Frankie is back and he goes to the mound on Sunday.

For the fourth time in the past week, the Oakland A’s debut one of their MLB starting pitchers today, as Frankie Montas returns from his coronavirus hiatus to start against the Chicago White Sox. He still has not been activated from the COVID-19 related injured list, which is unexpected but these pandemic rules are being made up as we go along so who knows all the details?

The A’s hitters will go against Lance Lynn. The right-handed ace was acquired by the Sox from the Rangers over the winter. We’ll also get a look at an interesting name in Chicago’s lineup in Andrew Vaughn, a first baseman who’s DHing today. The Santa Rosa native is a UC Berkeley alum who was drafted No. 3 overall in 2019, and is currently a national Top 20 prospect. He’s 8-for-22 with a homer, a 1.045 OPS, and more walks than strikeouts so far this spring, a couple weeks shy of his 23rd birthday.

First pitch is 1:05 p.m. PT. You can listen to the radio broadcast for free online at A’s Cast, and you can watch on live TV at NBC Sports California (and/or maybe MLB Network depending where you live).
