Through its first two games, the 2021 World Series is split, with one win each for the Atlanta Braves and Houston Astros.
In Game 2 on Wednesday, the Astros built a big early lead and held on the rest of the way to notch a 7-2 victory.
Now the series shifts to Truist Park in Atlanta for Game 3. The Braves start with rookie Ian Anderson on the mound — at age 23, he’s the youngest player on either team. Anderson has started three times in this postseason and his team won all three games, with the right-hander combining for a dozen innings and three runs allowed.
Houston calls on Luis Garcia, himself a 24-year-old rookie. His postseason began with two dreadful starts, totaling 10 runs in 3⅔ innings, but he bounced back in ALCS Game 6 with 5⅔ scoreless frames in the series clincher.
