Major League Baseball completed its 2020 draft this month, and fathers were a big theme among the Oakland A’s new class of players.
The A’s 1st-round pick was high school catcher Tyler Soderstrom, whose father, Steve, pitched in the majors for the Giants in the ‘90s. Their 2nd-round selection was college pitcher Jeff Criswell, and his dad, Brian, was also a draft pick by the A’s back in 1984, going on to pitch five seasons in their minor league system.
Both of these new Athletics followed in the footsteps of their fathers, but of course dads don’t have to be professional baseball players to serve as positive role models for their children. There are a thousand ways for them to show their love, spend quality time, and be shining examples of how to live life in this world.
With Father’s Day coming on Sunday, June 21, there’s no better time thank our dads for all they’ve done. For some that might include a phone call, a Zoom get together, or even a visit.
But if a gift is part of your plan to celebrate the day, and your father is an A’s fan, then you’ve come to the right place! Check out our guide below for all the clothing, hats, accessories, equipment, and books that Dad could ever want.
