Best of Twitter:
- Some of the best takes on Fiers so far...
I wouldn’t say this started with Mike Fiers. Players were talking about the trash can was whispered by mid 2017, they knew, and were talking to reporters off the record about it. I just figured no player would put his name on it. Kudos to Fiers for being brave.

The only acceptable take on Mike Fiers goes like this:
— Brodie Brazil (@BrodieNBCS) January 16, 2020
Thank you for putting your own name on the line to help baseball eliminate one of its most embarrassing scandals in history.
End of story.
Mike Fiers could have easily done this anonymously, then it only would have been a column and likely ended there because good reporters don't give up sources. He put his name on it and the game is better today because of it. He's not a target, he's to be commended.

Baseball needs more people like Mike Fiers, not fewer. The game owes him for saying something and putting his name to it. Silence and whispers only creates a sequel of the Steroid Era. Time for more light, not darkness. https://t.co/87cSjYHhMK

- We finally get to hear Fiers’ side of it...
Ryan Buchter on the @sternshow #WrapUpShow sheds a LOT of light on the @astros. Mike Fiers told @MLB that he’d give up his ring and his WS share if any of the Astros are suspended. He also confirms that they started this garbage in 2014 and it continued all last year.

- The Kyler Murray story might not be over yet...
Talked to Cardinals QB Kyler Murray today and asked him if he would ever consider playing in the NFL and MLB in the same calendar year:
— Bob McManaman (@azbobbymac) January 17, 2020
“I think I could. ... Athletically, I think yeah, I could do it. I’ve been playing both my whole life. I would love to add that to the resume."
