And away we go!
After the neatest, tidiest, fastest clean-up win that gave the A’s the retroactive four-game sweep, eleven-in-row win streak that turned the whole season around, we finally get to close that loose thread. A single by Chapman followed by a home run by Pinder was enough to send the A’s to another victory; the bullpen retired nine of the ten batters it faced.
The A’s play the second game in just a moment; this time starting Homer Bailey vs. Spencer Turnbull. And in a September playoff race, instead of an early-season road trip. Also, the A’s are now the home team. All of the exciting things.
Here are your lineups (WELCOME BACK, RAMON!!!!!):
(Also, it looks like the people who created the lineups are drinking in Vegas, like me.)
A’s lineup for second game. That should say Canha in RF not center. pic.twitter.com/50EDTmS1yB
