Game Thread #117: A’s at White Sox

MLB: Chicago White Sox at Oakland Athletics Stan Szeto-USA TODAY Sports

Happy Friday, happy lunchtime, and welcome to a really unusual Friday game start time! In case you didn’t notice, the A’s play at 12:00 noon today instead of a night game, thanks to the super fun movie night following the game. It’s not a day game at Wrigley, but it is a day game in Chicago, so here we go!

After a disappointing series across town against the Cubs, where the A’s could only manage to win one, the A’s look to rebound against the White Sox starting today. Mike Fiers, who has been consistently the A’s best pitcher all year, brings his 10-3 record into the game, facing off against Ross Detwiler.

With the Rays’ loss last night, the A’s are just a half game back of the second Wild Card, with an eternity of summer still to go. All they can worry about is winning games, starting right now.

Let’s get this weekend started on the right foot. A’s. White Sox. Here we gooooooo!
