Game Thread #114 (3): Athletics at Cubs

In the 7th inning, the 2-2 tie was broken wide open when Blake Treinen replaced Chris Bassitt. Treinen gave up two home runs (pinch hitter Ian Happ and Javier Baez) and four total hits to allow the Cubs to go ahead 6-2. Treinen, after the second home run by Baez, was replaced by Ryan Buchter. Treinen threw a total of 17 pitches. With two outs, Buchter faced Kyle Schwarber, 2-3 on the night, and dispatched him quickly for the strikeout to head to the 8th inning.
