The A’s are trying to sweep both this short series as well as the season series against the Cardinals on this sunny Sunday afternoon. After a decisive win last night, the team will look to build off of that victory today and leave for Chicago on a high note.
Aiming to achieve success in his first game with his new team, starter Tanner Roark will be taking the hill for the A’s today. The righty has had a largely successful season thus far, but slowed down a little bit in July. Opposing Roark will be veteran Adam Wainwright. Despite having terrific stuff, it appears age and injury has started to catch up with Wainwright, as he just hasn’t been very consistent this year.
First pitch is at 1:07.
