The Yankees struck first blood in the second inning. Gary Sanchez pelted a deep home run to the second deck of left field, his 31st on the year.

The Athletics, in true Green Collar fashion, kept at it and took the lead in the fourth inning. With one out, Matt Chapman singled to center field. Matt Olson the made it look easy with a deep shot over the right center field wall for a 2RBI homer, his 27thof the season.

Going into the top of the fifth, the A’s lead 2-1.
