Game Thread #131: Athletics at Royals

We’ve got A’s at the K, as the Athletics start a 4 game road series against the Royals.

Homer Bailey returns to face the team that traded him to the A’s about a month and a half ago. Bailey’s last two starts have been top notch, with only 1 earned run and 15 strikeouts over 12.2 innings pitched.

The Royals send out Brad Keller, holding a serviceable 3.95 ERA in his sophomore season, Keller seems to be at the same level as the rest of the Royals. This will be the first series the A’s play against an eliminated team this season, and will serve as a nice break before facing the Yankees at the end of the week.

• Seth Brown is making his MLB debut in left field, being called up after Stephen Piscotty was placed on the 10-Day IL earlier today. Brown has been hitting .297/352/.653 in his first season in AAA Las Vegas
