Game Thread #130: Athletics vs Giants

MLB: San Francisco Giants at Oakland Athletics Ed Szczepanski-USA TODAY Sports

Time to bounce back!

The finale between the A’s and Giants in 2019 is upon us.

Veteran Brett Anderson is taking the hill for the A’s, and he will be opposed by the Giants’ rookie Logan Webb. It is important for Anderson to get some length in this game, as the team used many relievers in the bad inning last night and the A’s don’t have any days off until September. Webb made his first career start last week against the Diamondbacks, where he got seven strikeouts and allowed two runs in five innings pitched.

Noticeably absent from the lineup is Khris Davis, whose slump has become too much for the lineup to support with regularity. With Ramon Laureano destined to rejoin the team shortly, it seemed likely that Davis would lose time to Canha regardless, but it appears as though the team pulled the trigger on that move a little bit earlier. Today, Jurickson Profar will be the team’s DH.

First pitch is at 1:07. Lineups are posted below.
