Fiers blazed thru the Yankees line-up thru five innings and Khris Davis, Marcus Semien and Stephen Piscotty have provided the power, A’s lead 6-4 through 6 1/2 innings of play.

New York Yankees v Oakland Athletics
Mike Fiers dominated the top ranked Yankees offensive tonight allowing only one run through the first 5 innings before running into a bit of trouble in the sixth inning. The A’s bullpen has taken over and now has the tall task of closing out the ballgame.

A’s have been in command of this game since Khris Davis’ two run blast in the second inning. Marcus Semien also added a two run shot and Mark Canha delivered a clutch two out run scoring infield single to put the fifth run on the board. Piscotty delivered a solo shot in the bottom of the sixth inning as well!

On the mound Mike Fiers did Mike Fiers things, allowing two runs, striking out four and scattering six hits through 5 13 innings of work. The A’s bullpen has now taken over and has the task of closing out the last 3 innings. The seventh inning didn’t go very smoothly for the bullpen as Yusmeiro Petit surrendered two runs to cut the A’s lead to 6-4 after 6 12 innings.
