It’s time for the the second annual Battle of the Bay Art Show, hosted by NBC Sports! The A’s and Giants will be hosting an art gallery of work pertaining to the two teams and the Bay Bridge Series. 2018 was the inaugural year of the competition, and it went well enough that they decided to do it again! Only a few dozen artists were given the opportunity to showcase their work, after being selected from a pool of submissions by a group of official judges.
This year, I got the opportunity to show a piece of mine I’d created for the event! I’m honored and floored I was able to get in — wait until you see the other pieces that I was up against! It’s crazy! These people are mega passionate and mega talented and I’m so happy I’ll get to hang my creation with theirs! (I didn’t get to do last year’s because I didn’t live out here yet.)
The event will take place over four days. Today (Tue) and tomorrow (Wed) in “The Vault” in San Francisco’s Oracle Park, and then on the 24th and 25th in Championship Plaza at the Coliseum when the two teams meet again in Oakland. Admission to the event is free with purchase of a game ticket.
I’ll be at all of them, except the 14th (Wed), so come by and say hi if you’re gonna be at the game!
Here’s my submission, which I called “Heroes of the Working Class”.
For those interested, I used watercolor, inks, tea and various markers. Lines were done with a micron fineliner, Sharpie pen and Pentel brush pen.
Hope to see you there! And thank you guys for all your support, I would never be where I am now without the amazing people I’ve found here at Athletics Nation!

I won’t be there, but yay!
HOORAY! See you there at one of the games!
I have no idea how I got here and don’t know what is happening
