Game Thread #119: Athletics at White Sox

After splitting the first two games of the series, it will be a challenge for the A’s to win their final game against the White Sox today. The White Sox will be sending their staff ace, Lucas Giolito, to the mound, who has bounced back strongly after a difficult month of July. The A’s are countering with Chris Bassitt, who has found success against his former team throughout his career.

Surprisingly, Khris Davis is out of the lineup and Nick Martini will be DHing and batting second, his strong batter’s eye and good OBP making him a natural fit for that spot in the order. It is just a day off for Davis, who is still struggling to get right since his injury.
