Happy Friday! It is Friday, right? With mid-week holidays, it is quite hard to tell. I hope you all had a nice Independence Day and are looking forward to more fantastic baseball tonight. The A’s had a near-perfect start to the month; their only blemish this week was a gut-wrenching, extra-innings loss to the Twins, which yanked them from brink of the sweep, so tantalizingly close. And, of course, it happened in front of a huge crowd who just wanted a snappy game, an A’s win, and their fireworks. If that isn’t so perfectly #onbrandA’s, I don’t know what is. But you can’t say this team doesn’t bounce back; thanks to Marcus Semien and his HUGE grand slam late in yesterday’s game, the A’s did end up taking the series from the Central-leading Twins in most impressive fashion before heading up to Seattle for one last weekend before the break.
Some fun news today, Matt Chapman will have company for this All Star Game, as Liam Hendriks was just named to the team.
Tonight’s game will feature Brett Anderson facing off against Yusei Kikuchi. The A’s will try to keep their season rolling in the final series before the break. Let’s do this.
Here are your lineups:
LET’S GO OAK-LAND!
