Game Thread #106: A’s vs. Texas

MLB: Seattle Mariners at Oakland Athletics Stan Szeto-USA TODAY Sports

Well, jeepers, AN. I left you guys on Tuesday night with an amazing comeback win, which was supposed to set the tone for the rest of the week and I come back to this mess. Three hits? That’s all we got? Three ******* hits? (You can’t say ****** on the air. Don’t worry, no one’s listening anyway.)

But seriously, what was with Wednesday’s last seven batters or so? It was like I was watching a strikeout contest. And last night? I left with a 3-0 lead, feeling pretty good because there’s no way the A’s wouldn’t get another hit in the game, right? And who give up 11 unanswered runs and why couldn’t Texas do that against the Astros?

Yes, these last two games can best be described as “Lots of mistakes were made”, but now it’s Friday night, we’re pouring our wine and trying to stay out of the 100+ degree heat, and we’re desperately hoping for an A’s win to keep this magical summer heading into Fall.

Tonight’s assignment falls to Daniel Mengden, who looks to be the stopper. The A’s will throw out the following lineup against Lance Lynn:
