It is the chance to sweep a crucial series at the outset of the second half of the MLB season. The A’s have been on fire of late, one of the best teams in all the MLB since the middle of June. At long last, the team is in a Wild Card Spot, and should the season end today, the A’s would be in the playoffs. With a whole second half ready to unfold, it is probably best not to count any chickens before they are hatched.
Starting today for the A’s is Brett Anderson, who has been one of the better starters on the year for Oakland. He has stayed surprisingly healthy, and has aimed to be one of the premier pitchers on the A’s pitching staff in the second half. Opposing Anderson is Reynaldo Lopez, who had a first half of the season that he’d surely rather forget.
First pitch is at 1:07. Lineups are below.
