The Oakland A’s activated Khris Davis from the injured list, the team announced Saturday. To make room on the roster, outfielder Skye Bolt was optioned to Triple-A Las Vegas.

Davis was placed on the IL last Friday with an ongoing hip/oblique issue. The injury was initially suffered on May 5 in Pittsburgh, but he tried to play through it for a couple weeks before finally going on the IL to properly rest it.

Davis, 2019 (43 G): .248/.318/.497, 114 wRC+, 12 HR, 29 RBI

His stay on the injured list was short, as he required only the minimum 10 days to return to action. The designated hitter did not go on a rehab assignment before he was activated.

Davis returns to a lineup that did quite well in his absence. The A’s averaged 5.9 runs per game over the eight games he missed, and Mark Canha did a great job as the DH in his place. However, with the team in the midst of a three-game skid, Oakland will certainly be happy to have him back.

Bolt, who originally took Davis’s spot on the roster last week, was sent back down to Triple-A. The 25-year-old did not see much playing time during his time with the club. His only appearance came in his first career start on Sunday against the Seattle Mariners, when he went 0 for 3 with a walk.

Bolt, 2019 AAA (33 G): .311/.379/.571, 130 wRC+, 6 HR, 5 SB, 8.3% BB, 28.8% K

The switch-hitter remains on the outside looking in. This was his second short stint with the big league club this season, the first coming during the Pittsburgh series.
