Game Thread #22: A’s vs. Blue Jays

MLB: Oakland Athletics at Baltimore Orioles Evan Habeeb-USA TODAY Sports

Happy Friday (Passover/Easter/Spring) to everyone out there and I hope you’re ready for a great weekend of A’s baseball! The A’s returned home after last Sunday’s brutal loss; not as brutal as the Angels coming back from a 10-2 deficit last night and losing in the ninth, but painful nonetheless. After being shelled by Houston in the first game of this week’s brief two-gamer, the A’s rebounded behind Frankie Montas for a thrilling 2-1 victory; their first over the Astros this young season.

They will try to build on that momentum in tonight’s game as they open against the Blue Jays. The A’s will start Aaron Brooks (2-1, ERA over 4) against Marcus Stroman, who has pitched well this year, but clearly his offense hates him (0-3, ERA under 2).

Here are your lineups:

First for the visiting Toronto Blue Jays:

2B Eric Sogard
SS F. Galvis
CF R. Grichuk
1B Justin Smoak
LF T. Hernandez
DH Rowdy Tellez
3B B. Drury
RF B. McKinney
C Danny Jansen

And now, for your 2019 Oakland Athletics!

LF R. Grossman
SS M. Semien
3B Matt Chapman
DH Khris Davis
1B K. Morales
RF S. Piscotty
2B J. Profar
CF R. Laureano
C Josh Phegley R

LET’S GO OAK-LAND!
