Today we are celebrating two events : Women's Day and the comeback of Khris Davis to our lineup after a calf injury. His Spring Training will start at Hohokam Stadium in a game against the Padres, where he will try to get some valuable at-bats before the trip to Japan. The new look lineup is facing a 23 year old right handed pitcher Chris Paddack, one of the fruits of a great farm system. Playing against a dynamic and patient A's lineup, which has scored 16 runs in the last 3 games is another challenge for the young prospect, who will try to prove his value.
Marco Estrada is taking the hill for the home team. The 35 year old pitcher will make his secong start after giving up 3 runs in his previous outing against the Angels in 3IP. The 9 ERA doesn't look pretty, but Marco was happy with the performance as he made a lot of quality pitches. The key for him going forward will be limiting the long ball. Marco seems to have a guaranteed spot in the rotation, but still there is a lot to prove this season. He needs to show that the A's made the right decision when they decided to sign him and that he is still able to come back to his 2017 form after a dissapointing 2018. Today he will face a Padres lineup, that will be lacking Manny Machado. The star third baseman isn't very popular among A's fans, who got to see his antics in Baltimore in 2014 before the whole baseball world saw them during the latest playoffs. The guy with the second biggest free agent contract in MLB history will start the game on the bench and there won't be a lot of regulars starting for San Diego.
