Spring Game Thread #19: Athletics at Padres (ss) (is rained out)

Jayne Kamin-Oncea-USA TODAY Sports

UPDATE: The game was called due to rain in the bottom of the 1st.

The Oakland A's will conclude their short two game road trip with a drive to Peoria to visit the Cactus League leading San Diego Padres. The last time these two teams met, the White Elephants would put together a late charge to overcome a five run deficit and claim victory.

First pitch is scheduled for 6:40pm Pacific. Radio and streaming audio are the only options to catch live action.

The A's are looking to rebound after dropping yesterday's contest 6-3 to the Rockies. With the long ball hurting the A's in the last contest, the change of weather, and night time start may dampen the distance of some "pop-ups."
Last meeting the , the Padres did not send much of their top talent to Hohokam Stadium, and the Athletics seem to be returning the favor in kind for the game at Peoria Stadium.
Of course the big news (noted in the past two links) is that the final rotation spot seems to be up for grabs. As Aaron Brooks heads to the mound, this could be his best chance to strengthen his case for the last spot.
