Game Thread #140: A’s vs. Yankees

Long live bullpenning!

MLB: Oakland Athletics at Detroit Tigers Rick Osentoski-USA TODAY Sports

Happy Tuesday A’s fans!

Liam Hendriks gets his second start of the season tonight. While he’s been mostly a bullpen arm across his eight years in the big leagues, he has started 35 games, mostly with Minnesota early in his career.

Hendriks is opposed by the recently acquired J.A. Happ, who has been excellent in pinstripes, going 5-0 with a 3.38 ERA since being acquired from Toronto.

A win tonight would bring the A’s within three games of the Yanks for the first wild card spot. First pitch is at 7:05 PM and lineups are posted below. Let’s go Oakland!
