At long last, the return of Home Cahill, and the promise of his 0.85 ERA.
Cahill is coming off two poor road starts. Of course, as with all things small sample size, we can’t seriously know that being on the road negatively affects his performance, but it sure looks like it. Two starts ago, he went 5 innings and allowed 5 runs in Minnesota, and last week, he went just 3.1 innings, allowing 4 runs (3 earned) in Houston.
But three starts ago, at home on August 18th? Seven innings, 0 runs, 7 strikeouts. And the home start on August 5th? Six innings, 0 runs, 10 strikeouts.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
38-year-old veteran CC Sabathia will start for the Yankees. He’s 7-5 with a 3.36 ERA this year, and in a current stretch of three quality starts, and before that, he was only an out short of one.
Ramon Laureano will get a start off, but could come off the bench.
An off day for Laureano today. Melvin said as hard as he plays his energy seemed a bit low yesterday. But you’ll probably see him at some point during the game.
