Game Thread #138: Athletics vs Mariners

MLB: Seattle Mariners at Oakland Athletics Stan Szeto-USA TODAY Sports

It has been a long stretch.

The A’s are in the final push of what has been a tough twenty games in twenty days section of the schedule, and in the last few ballgames some sloppy baseball has reared its ugly head. The season is winding down quick, and while the team has gotten some fortunate reinforcements for the last month of play, the position players have looked more worn down than ever, and the bullpen is being stretched to a limit far beyond what anyone would have expected back during spring training.

However, if this team has demonstrated anything all season, it is resilience.

After dropping two of the first three games of this very important series, Edwin Jackson and the A’s will be seeking to earn a series split against the Seattle Mariners. First pitch is at 1:10. Lineups are below.
