The Rangers picked up right where they left off from last night, adding four more home runs to last night’s five dingers, downing the A’s 8-2 in game two of the two-game series.

Daniel Mengden’s night started out rough from the very beginning, as he allowed two first-inning home runs to Jurickson Profar (two-run homer) and Joey Gallo (solo moon shot) to put the A’s in an early hole 3-0 after one inning. Mengden (6-5) went on to give up another homer to Profar in the third inning and in the 4th inning, Ranger's first basemen, Ronald Guzman, added a two-run shot to end Mengden’s outing with an ugly linescore of 4 innings, 5 hits, 6 runs, 3 walks and 4 HR’s.

The one highlight for the A’s would come in the 5th when Khris “I Own the Rangers” Davis did this:

The rest of the night was downhill for the A’s as Liam Hendricks making his return to the ballclub after 2 months on the disabled list threw 31 pitches to help save the bullpen (good) but also allowed two runs (bad) to extend the Rangers lead to 8-2.

We did get to witness the MLB debut of A’s outfielder, Nick Martini, who went 0-2, but after grinding in the Cardinals organization for years, finally got to say he is a Major League Baseball player. Congratulations to Nick on making it to the show!
