The comedy rap group Lonely Island introduced a new song this week about Oakland A’s stars Jose Canseco and Mark McGwire. The group originated in their hometown of Berkeley and their most visible member, Andy Samberg of Saturday Night Live and Brooklyn Nine Nine fame, is often seen sporting an A’s hat in public.
Here’s a snippet of the song, which was recorded at a rare live performance by the group. I haven’t fully made out all the lyrics yet, but there’s at least some light cussing so let’s say it’s NSFW. We’ve got Samberg hamming it up as Jose, and Akiva Schaffer playing the more toned-town role of Mark. (h/t Nerdist)

Canseco oiled up like Rambo,
Pick the needle out my butt and hop in the Lambo
Hey, it’s possible to be an A’s fan and still be realistic about our old favorites. These two players certainly have plenty of stories and controversies in their pasts to be lampooned. OK, mostly Jose.
But wait, there’s more! The song continues in another video, and this time we get Jorma Taccone, the other member of the musical trio, appearing as 49ers quarterback Joe Montana.

Hear ye, hear ye, I’m Joe Montana,
When it comes to football, I’m one bad mamajama
As a fan of the A’s, comedy, sports parodies, and the Lonely Island itself, I’m excited to hear this full song if/when it’s released in the future. It really is nice to see these two bat jockeys getting into rap music.
