Game Thread #38: A’s at Yankees

Wait, who’s starting?

MLB: Boston Red Sox at Oakland Athletics Kelley L Cox-USA TODAY Sports

Happy Friday and welcome to Friday night gamethreading with baseballgirl. As you know, we are currently on a 2-0 streak, so hopefully Friday night can be good for the A’s after they literally lost all week long. Following a great sweep of the Orioles last weekend, the A’s welcomed in Houston and were absolutely crushed by the defending champions.

But never fear, because Sonny Gray is taking the mound tonight!

[whispers] “What’s that? He plays for New York? Well, who do we have starting?”

“KENDALL GRAVEMAN?! Well, guess our Friday night streak is over.”

Kendall Graveman, the one with the 0-5 record and 8.89 ERA, will be taking the mound for the A’s tonight as the A’s offense faces off for the first time again their golden boy, Sonny Gray, whom we lost to the New York Yankees. Gray has struggled so far this year and the A’s have struggled so far this week, so we’ll see how things go.

Friday night game thread Win #3? Stay tuned.
