The mask is back, baby!
The opening game of this three game set comes on the same day in which it was officially announced that the A’s and Mariners will open up the 2019 season in Japan. Felix Hernandez, getting the start tonight, was the starter of the first game of the 2012 A’s-Mariners Japan series, and he presumably will be the starter of the 2019 edition. In 2012, Andrew Triggs, starting tonight for the A’s, was a middling relief pitcher in his first full season in the minor leagues putting up decent numbers.
