Spring Game Thread #21 and #22: Mariners vs A's, Giants vs. A's

Happy St.Patrick's day! Today we will be celebrating by welcoming our newest addition Jonathan Lucroy on the field, who will be catching Sean Manaea. The lefty seems to have a guaranteed spot in the rotation, but it will be important for him to get to know how to work with the veteran catcher. Hopefully we will see some strikeout action on that slider that Sean is feeling more confident about with the mix of his fastball and changeup, that could also be very effective. Challenging his stuff will be the Mariners, who will be playing with a split squad team just like the A's. Their starting pitcher will be 30 year old Casey Lawrence, who has had a really impressive spring training thus far. Although his MLB statistics aren't very good, another solid performance could help him make the Opening Day roster. For now though here are the lineups for this spring training game at Hohokam Stadium (let me celebrate like the A's twitter account).

Lineup

Oakland Athletics

1. Marcus O'Semien

2. Jonathan O'Lucroy

3. Jed O'Lowrie

4. Khris O'Davis

5. Stephen O'Piscotty

6. Matt O'Chapman

7. Chad O'Pinder

8. Mark O'Canha

9. Dustin O'Fowler

P Sean O'Manaea

Go A's! Altgough the final result isn't all that important in spring training, it will be nice to see some good performances on my nameday! I know it may be hard dealing with the news of Jharel's Tommy John surgery becoming a fact, but hopefully the A's and Cotton will be able to move on from that. Our team can still make the Postseason and let's focus on how our healthy guys play. Bawcie się dobrze i nie zapomnijce się ubrać na zielono! (Have fun and don't forget to dress green!)

Let's just keep this thread rolling for the second split-squad game. -Alex
