The Oakland A’s are 2-0-1 this spring, which looks more like a hockey record with Sunday’s tie game tacked onto the end. Today they hit the road for the first time, to Camelback Ranch to face the White Sox.
- Boog Powell, CF
- Franklin Barreto, 2B
- Stephen Piscotty, RF
- Matt Olson, DH
- Chad Pinder, SS
- Brandon Moss, 1B
- Mark Canha, LF
- Bruce Maxwell, C
- Sheldon Neuse, 3B
Kendall Graveman draws the start, with the following names joining him on the lineup card: Santiago Casilla, Raul Alcantara, Simon Castro, Nolan Blackwood, Eric Jokisch, and Jeremy Bleich.
Notes:
- It stinks to have both Matt Chapman and Renato Nunez on the shelf for now, but at least Neuse gets some extra reps in the starting lineup. Click here for the full list of injury updates.
- Maxwell is back in there after his concussion scare on Friday.
- Pinder is starting at his third different position already this spring (previously: LF and 2B).
- Michael Kopech starts on the mound for the White Sox. He’s the minors’ No. 10 overall prospect according to MLB Pipeline, with an 80-grade fastball that sits in the upper-90s. He was acquired by Chicago in the Chris Sale trade.
