Game Thread #141: A’s vs. Astros

While some of us are coming to you from a dorm room sans-AC in Southern California, much of the AN crew is watching this one live at the ballpark. The former is definitely not bitter *at all.*

Game 1 of today’s doubleheader will feature Daniel Gossett on the mound for the A’s. He has been less-than-stellar in his past few outings, going 0-2 with a 5.87 ERA. Jeff Sullivan exuberantly calls his stuff “sort of OK.”

Coming off of Wednesday’s first win in forever, and last night’s three-comeback win, the A’s find themselves on the verge of a winning streak (!).

Today’s lineup boasts last night’s hero #1 Marcus Semien in the leadoff spot again. Hero #2 Boog Powell will bat 8th. Hero #3 Jed Lowrie is batting 3rd; relive his heroics:
