Good afternoon and Happy Friday! After an outrageously fun weekend that saw the A’s thoroughly dominate the Houston Astros in a four-game sweep, the A’s faltered a bit in their trip to Boston this week, losing three out of four to the AL East-leading Red Sox.
They are hoping their fortunes change with the arrival in Philadelphia, and not just because the Phillies are in dead last; with a considerably worse record than the A’s.
Daniel Mengden, who was a key part of last weekend’s sweep, will be on the mound, looking for his second win in a row. He’d also like the A’s to score another 11 runs to help him out, and since he’ll be batting, maybe he’ll even help himself.
