Prospect Watch:

Today in Baseball History:

  • 1907 - Walter “Big Train” Johnson debuts for Washington. He loses 3-2 and gives up a bunt single to Ty Cobb.
  • 1921 - A Chicago jury acquits the eight Black Sox. Floyd Mountain Landis still bans all eight players from baseball for life.
  • 1982 - Rickey Henderson steals his 100th base of the season for the A’s. He is the first MLB player to have achieved that feat twice.

Best of Twitter:

  • He’ll pitch tomorrow in Cleveland...
  • One final goodbye...
  • Apparently a neck issue, and we hope that’s all.
