If the latest trade news has got you down, luckily there is more to baseball than the trades. Unfortunately, it has been more than a week since the big league team has looked halfway decent on the field.
The quality of the team he plays for aside, Chris Smith is still happy to be here and ready to do his thing regardless. In each of his first three career starts, Smith has pitched a quality start and has kept the team in the game. He has made up for his lack of overpowering stuff with strong sequencing and location, and has a WHIP of only 1.11 despite only striking out ten batters in nearly twenty innings. Tonight, Smith will be opposed by Adalberto Mejia, who has a lot of potential but has struggled with his command and control over the last month-plus.
First pitch is at 6:05. Lineups are below.
