Happy Friday and welcome to another night of A's baseball, where you just never know what you're going to get. The A's spent last weekend sweeping the New York Yankees in a four-game set, but they could pull off no magic against the best team in baseball; the Astros swept the A's in short order in their own four-game series, making it a pretty dismal week of baseball after an admittedly fun one last week. Such is the 2017 season, where we absorb blows like a four-game sweep and a DFA of a fan-favorite player with aplomb.
You know what didn't help? Yes, I know this rant is four days too late, but it's just the A's luck to get Matt Chapman clicking along and right before the last series, he develops the knee infection and leaves the team. 4-0 with him, 0-4 without him. Coincidence? Yes, of course, the A's are not that good. But it's still annoying.
Here's the group we're throwing out tonight; plenty of new guys for all! Let the kids play!
LET'S GO OAK-LAND!
