Oakland will look to salvage a series split against the Marlins as Sonny Gray takes the hill against the winless Edison Volquez. Chad Pinder will be getting the start in left field today for the A's, moving Khris Davis to the DH spot. Since Zach Neal will be taking Bobby Wahl's now vacated spot on the roster, the A's will be playing today with, more or less, a one-man bench, as Yonder Alonso is probably going to get the day off after his HBP last night and Stephen Vogt will be unlikely to enter the game as the only backup catcher on the roster.
