Game Thread #26: A's at Twins

It's a new month, new week, and new series, and that's good enough for us.

Rick Scuteri-USA TODAY Sports

But wait! it doesn't have to be good enough, because Sonny Gray is coming off the disabled list to make his season debut. It's been a dark and twisty start to the season so far for this team, so maybe Sonny can shed some light (sorry).

Since recovering from his lat injury, Gray tossed a game a piece in Stockton and Nashville, and his final line was 11 innings, 0 runs, 13 strikeouts, and 3 hits. His fastball hit 94mph.

All this bodes well, so let's hope we see more of 2015 Sonny and less of his 2016 alter ego.

More things to be excited for:

  • Rajai Davis coming off the DL to (hopefully) infuse some life into the top of the order.
  • Trevor Plouffe wanting to beat his former team.
  • Games played in central time, just to keep us on our toes.

First pitch is at 5:10, please keep A's minor leaguer Casey Thomas and his family in your thoughts.
